Pipers and Payments

Legends like children
come and go. Rats
get blamed but they
were always there.
Who determines the price
and the cost, must realize
that rifling of cashiers
profiting off the land
whittles the pipe
to the future. Being
hypnotized by the high pitched
notes doesn't amend the true
cost. Edges of rivers
aren't the solution
but neither is the dark
cave where the piper
wants us to live.
