"you were with me at sea"

I totally understand why this poem was selected as a best new poem. I find it resonant on a personal level as a mother who lost son who was a twin. And the images are lovely, maternal and comforting for a thing that has no comfort.

Hi V, Yes, it's a remarkable poem. Your post reminded me that Mary Jo Bang's 'Elegy' is a poetry book I've meant to check out for a while. You might be interested to,

I'm sorry to hear about your son.

  2. Thank you David. My son only lived for 3 and a half months, so I do find that poem apropos.

I will check out that link. Thanks.
